Hey guys, I’m thinking of adding some new content on here that will help you with your goals of becoming the next internet marketing superstar. Since I’ve been experiencing significant mental clutter these past two weeks, (perhaps it’s due to my recent twitter addiction), I’ve decided to share my thoughts on various topics.  I’m looking for ways to keep myself motivated updating this blog, so I do hope adding this new section will help me get my creative juices flowing.  So, that being said, if you are currently reading this and would like to help me out, please send your questions to paul@paulportugal.com. So last night I received an email from one of my Twitter friends and he asks:

Hi Paul,

I support a blog and website. The problem is that before 2 years I found a blog (original content, submited to directories, etc..) but no results.. 30 unique visitors for 4 months .. I abandoned it, but I kept my interesting in SEO. Today I found a blog (blogger) again, submited to some highly recommended directories which I found in several “traffic generation” books but.. 2 months – 27 unique visitors.. 1 visitor per 3-4 days.. People say “keep working” but before I supported a blog more than  4months.. NOTHING! Im determined to break this traffic to my blog !! But now Ive no idea how to do it.. I read so many books about seo, online marketing and.. still nothing.

I dream about acceleration Im ready to pay once, twice or more .. just to see targeted traffic to my blog .. to keep me motivated, because I like this job and I would like to develop. So I hope your posts here could give me the key

Thanks for your email. Don’t fret. You just need to find the right formula. Your approach to traffic generation should be the same approach you would take when having a sound investment portfolio. You need to create your game plan around multiple strategies, just to name a few, article marketing, twitter, and the use of social bookmarking sites. It’s important not depend only on SEO. There are lots of ways to get targeted traffic. SEO takes lots of time and you need to have more unique content in your blog to get top rankings in google. You also need some page ranks to rank well. So, for a start up blog don’t depend on search engines. There are lots of ways to get more traffic without spending a dime. Find the ways which will suit you better and then choose one from them. I’m currently looking into a wordpress blog myself, that would essentially add my new blog post to over 37 social bookmarking sites. I’ll let everyone know my experiences with it after using it for a while.

Also, you may also want to try commenting on other people’s blogs. If your comments show any value to the reader, they will probably click on your website link from within the post.

If you’re interesting in knowing about traffic generation, I’ll be critiquing advice of over 500 gurus and sharing their main points with you.

p.s. you forgot to mention what your blog topics are about. Is it something obscure  like Israeli Folk Dancing? The only reason I ask is that I’ve come across the weirdest topics on blogs recently.
